Learning objectives:

Students train their endurance and get motivated to do some endurance training on their own.

Implemented digital tools:

Cell Phones or small devices with a GPS function. One for each student with earphones/a headset. A device for the teacher is not necessary. The digital tool is a free app from the App store called “Zombies, Run! 5K” which has to be downloaded beforehand.

Elaboration of the competences:

After a short introduction of the app the students will playfully train their endurance by doing a workout. Additionally the students improve their English listening skills.

Preparation:

The first step is to make sure that every student brought their own cell phone (including headphones) with them. Every student has to get the “Zombies, Run! 5K” App. They will find this in the App Store.

Implementation:

The students choose a workout that fits their endurance competence. The students do the workout.

Conclusion:

After the workout students have to cool down and reflect upon the advantages and disadvantages of the running game and evaluate the level of their endurance level. If the level is not appropriate they can adjust this in the next workout.
